About the Event

Building communities through communications!

The 2008 Communications Consumer Dialogue is designed to be an interactive forum, drawing on the shared knowledge and experience of the audience and speakers.

Positivity and forward thinking are the order of the day, so come prepared to engage in a lively discussion regarding technology and the opportunities it presents for all consumers!

A magnificent line up of speakers will share their thoughts on how technology has enabled them to foster a sense of community and achieve equitable access; regardless of age, ability, background or socio-economic status.

Moderator Dr Karl Kruszelnicki, a dynamic and enthusiastic speaker, will be on hand to ensure that the Dialogue facilitates interactive discussions between all participants.


Location

Customs House is situated at 31 Alfred Street in Circular Quay - and can be reached via ferries, buses and trains.

Walking

Customs House is a 10 minute walk from Martin Place, 15 minutes from Town Hall and five minutes from the Sydney Opera House.


Parking

There is no designated car parking area for Customs House visitors.

The closest parking stations are located behind the Gateway building (In Underwood St, off Pitt St, opposite of the Marriott Hotel), the Sir Stamford Hotel Car park (Albert Street, off Macquarie St) and Sydney Opera House Car Park. These are paid public parking stations and discounts for Customs House visitors are not available.


Accessibility Requirements

We aim to meet the needs of attendees who have special requirements in order to participate. The venue is wheelchair accessible via the main entrance on Alfred Street. Inside there are lifts for wheelchairs to access to all five floors. Disabled toilet facilities for visitors are located on the ground as well as levels 1 and 2.
